The Killers drummer Ronnie Vannucci has promised ‘more guitars’ on their new album after the synth-heavy 2008 effort ‘Day & Age‘.

Vannucci also told the NME they plan to hit the studio next month to begin recording new material, but have yet to decide on a producer, though they do have ‘people in mind’.

“The next album is going to have more guitars. It’s about time,” he said. “In October we’re going to start recording in Nashville. It’s up in the air who’s going to produce it, I can’t officially say.”

“We have some people in mind, but I don’t want to piss people off and say who it is. All last month we’ve been writing some great Killers songs, it’s really happening. I’m really looking forward to doing this next record it’s going to sound great.”

After entering a short hiatus following the completion of ‘Day & Age’ promotional duties, The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers released a successful solo album last year, while Vannucci launched his own solo project, Big Talk, last July.
