Kasabian’s Serge Pizzorno Quit Drugs For Family

Kasabian‘s Serge Pizzorno has moved to clear up recent comments which suggested he had quit drugs to ensure his band’s music didn’t suffer.

“I just got bored. For me, the most important thing is the art, the music and the things we leave behind. If your music starts to suffer, then it’s not worth it,” Pizzorno told Q Magazine in their recent interview.

However, Pizzorno has now insisted to NME his main concern in cutting down on the rock n roll lifestyle was to protect his new family, not because he felt his songwriting was suffering.

“Those comments were taken out of context,” Pizzorno said on his Q interview. “I always write from home and I’ve just had a baby. I’m not going to be doing drugs around a little boy. There’s more at stake than music. When you’re getting up to do the milk in the morning, you don’t want to be out of your mind, do you?”

Kasabian’s new album ‘Velociraptor!‘ was released on Monday (September 19th) and is likely to top the UK Album Chart when the new rundown is announced on Sunday.
