Red Hot Chili Peppers will play a free London show next month as they move into full promotional mode with the release of new album ‘I’m With You‘ just around the corner.

Tickets for the show, which is being organised by BBC Radio 1 and will take place at the London KOKO on September 2nd, will be handed out via free ballot of which fans can enter and find full details at BBC.co.uk.

Red Hot Chili Peppers have previously announced a more traditional UK & Ireland arena tour which will begin at Dublin’s O2 Arena on November 4th, before visiting London, Glasgow, Manchester, Sheffield and Birmingham throughout the month.

Despite the loss of influential member John Frusciante prior to the recording of ‘I’m With You’, Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis recently told Spin.com the subsequent arrival of Josh Klinghoffer has in fact led to a ‘fresh and exciting’ new sound for the band.

“It is always going to change the chemistry and feeling of the music when such a creative force as John Frusciante leaves,” he said. “He was something unique that shaped our sound then, but now I think it’s also something fresh and exciting to have a new, incredible musical mind working with us now.”

‘I’m With You’ is due for release on August 30th.
