The Black Keys Finish Work On New Album

Blues duo The Black Keys have finished work on their new album with producer Danger Mouse, and praised the multi-talented musician for the many ideas he brought to the table during the recording process.

“He understands all the different kinds of music we’re into. He’s got really great ideas about melody and song structure. For him it’s all about the song,” Dan Auerbach told Spin.com.

The album is set to feature tracks such as ‘Lonely Boy‘ and ‘Little Black Submarine‘, and is the follow-up to 2010’s brilliant celebration of stripped down, rootsy blues rock ‘Brothers‘.

However, Auerbach has warned fans not to expect a repeat of the sound which dominated their previous record, with the plodding, almost soulful feel now replaced by a more upbeat tempo.

“The new album doesn’t sound like ‘Brothers’,” he explained. “It doesn’t have that open soul feel to it. It’s way more driving and the tempos are really fast.”

As yet, no official release date has been confirmed for the new album.
