Kings Of Leon bassist Jared Followill has hinted at internal friction within the band after the cancellation of shows in Dallas and Houston this weekend.

Frontman Caleb Followill left the stage mid-set in Dallas last Friday (July 29th), blaming problems with his voice. “I’m gonna vomit, I’m gonna drink a beer and I’m gonna come back out here and I’m gonna play three more songs,” Caleb told the crowd before leaving stage. As it transpired, he didn’t return to the stage to complete the performance.

Now, after a scheduled appearance across state in Houston last night was also pulled, Jared has admitted to fans via Twitter that the reasons for their current strife lie much deeper than a simple dodgy throat.

“I love our fans so much. I know you guys aren’t stupid. I can’t lie,” he wrote. “There are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade.”

Kings Of Leon continued their huge commercial success with the release of ‘Come Around Sundown‘ last year, which hit the top spot in the UK and peaked at #2 on the US’ Billboard chart.
