The 1,500 strong crowd at New York’s Webster Hall were treated to a special duet from two living legends last night (June 7th) when former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne joined Paul Simon on stage for rousing renditions of ‘You Can Call Me Al‘ and Talking Heads’ classic 1986 single ‘Road To Nowhere‘.

After a set which mixed some of Simon’s established favourites with cover versions of The Beatles‘ ‘Here Comes The Sun‘ and Jimmy Cliff‘s ‘Vietnam‘, along with newer material lifted from his recent album ‘So Beautiful Or So What?‘, Byrne appeared for a second encore to perform the two tracks.

‘So Beautiful or So What?’, Simon’s twelfth studio album, was released to widespread critical acclaim in April. The record debuted at number four on the US’ Billboard 200 and was also a hit throughout Europe.

Live4ever declared the album ‘impressive, lyrically sublime, and as fragile as glass in some instances.’ Read the full review here.
