The Strokes Already Working On New Album

After making fans wait over five years for new album ‘Angles‘, The Strokes are already making up for lost time and have begun putting together ideas for a fifth studio record.

Since the release of ‘Angles’ last month, the band have hinted at their desire to re-enter the studio sooner rather than later, and those plans now seem to be in motion after bassist Nikolai Fraiture wrote on Twitter:

“…super excited to go in to the studio today and work on some new ideas! I’ll keep you posted,” adding later: “for the Strokes, of course!”

The New York band appear determined to quickly put the struggles of ‘Angles’ behind them, when much discussed inter-band tensions meant at times the members were recording their contributions alone in the studio.

Unsurprisingly, the resultant album has been described as inconsistent by some critics, while Nick Valensi has recently admitted to Pitchfork that he feels the group have ‘a much better album in them’.
