Today, CONVERSE Inc. releases the dynamic, interactive music video for the original song ‘Desire’ – a genre-blending collaboration featuring outstanding British artists Paloma Faith, Graham Coxon and Bill Ryder-Jones.
As part of Converse’s on-going campaign celebrating the diversity of the UK music scene and global music in general, the ‘Desire’ track and video are both available now for free download at www.Converse.co.uk and authorized Converse websites around the world.
The lyrics of ‘Desire’, an electrifying track, combining Paloma’s unique, sultry voice together with Graham’s and Bill’s guitar mastery, explore the darker side of desire which is brought to life in the video – a modern day film noir, combining both film and animation.
The video takes the viewer on a journey deep into the otherworldliness of ‘Desire’ and using Facebook, provides an innovative interactive viewer experience as you are pulled into the bizarre and imaginative world of ‘Desire’ to star alongside Paloma, Graham and Bill in your own unique version of the film. There are three key moments in the video where the viewer is drawn into the action and integrated into the film and by connecting to the video through Facebook Connect and you can ‘invite’ your friends to join you on your journey as they are imported into this fantasy world to star beside you.
As the video Director Anrick Bregman explains: “Desire is at the core a story told through a combination of traditional film and animation techniques, advanced visual effects, and progressive code-generated content. We integrated Facebook content brought by the user into our film with advanced Actionscript 3 code effects, video layering in Flash, and a frame-by-frame tracking process.”
Desire is the second track released by Converse as part of its year-long Connectivity campaign highlighting the incomparable British music scene by bringing together a diverse range of artists both established and up and coming, as the brand continues to celebrate the global music community.
