Arctic Monkeys will release ‘Don’t Sit Down Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair‘, the first single taken from new album ‘Suck It and See‘, as a digital download on April 11th, and will also issue a special white label 7″ of the track backed by ‘Brick by Brick‘ on April 16th in support of the UK’s Record Store Day.

The new album has been produced by Simian Mobile Disco‘s James Ford, and was recorded in Los Angeles over the winter. Recently, the Sheffield band confirmed previous producer Josh Homme is set to provide vocals on the track ‘All My Own Stunts‘.

Frontman Alex Turner has said the group have concentrated on a more tuneful approach to the new record. “We wanted it to be song-based this time,” he told NME. “We used to always try and not go down that route before, because it had been done. But there’s a reason why they’re the classic structures.”

Arctic Monkeys are due to play two large homecoming shows at the Don Valley Bowl June 10th and 11th. ‘Suck It and See‘ is to be released on June 6th.
