Ronnie Wood Wants The Rolling Stones To Play Glastonbury 2011

ronnieRolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has said he is itching for the veteran rockers to stir back into life next year and would like them to headline the 2011 Glastonbury festival.

In an interview with the Metro magazine, Wood claimed it is ‘high time’ the Stones got back into action after a break of three years since the conclusion of their massive Bigger Bang world tour.

“I’d love to do Glastonbury,” Wood remarked. “I’m always up for the festivals. As far as the Stones are concerned we haven’t had a get-together for three years but it’s high time.”

As yet, no headliners have been confirmed for next year’s Glastonbury, with Michael Eavis only commenting on a ‘US superstar’ whom is set to appear on the Pyramid Stage, sparking rumours which have mentioned the likes of Madonna, Beyonce and Prince as possible performers. In addition, British bands such as U2, Coldplay and Radiohead have all been strongly linked with next year’s Worthy Farm event.
