Smoke at the O2 Arena this morning

Kings Of Leon‘s scheduled performance at London’s O2 Arena tonight (Dec 21st) is under threat after fires broke out on two of the band’s tour buses outside the venue.

According to reports, 12 fire engines and over 60 firefighters were called out to deal with the inferno just after 8.15am this morning (BST).

A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade released details of the fire this morning, saying: “Two tour buses are on fire within a loading bay at the O2 Arena. Sixty firefighters are working hard to bring the blaze under control. Our crews are doing a fantastic job, especially given the levels of smoke down here which has lead to quite challenging conditions.”

A spokesperson for the O2 Arena later confirmed the fire is under control, but placed doubt on whether Kings Of Leon’s show will now go ahead. “The fire is under control and no injuries reported,” the spokespersons said.

“Assessments are currently under way and we expect to make a decision in the next couple of hours as to whether tonight’s Kings of Leon show will go ahead. We will keep our website updated.”

Kings Of Leon are out on the road in support of their new album ‘Come Around Sundown‘, which currently stands at number 11 on the UK Album chart.
