The make-up of next summer’s UK festival season continues to take shape, with US heavyweights Foo Fighters being confirmed today as the first headliners for the 2011 T In The Park festival.
The spot adds a further date to their expanding UK summer itinerary, which already includes an appearance at the Isle Of Wight festival and their own show at the Milton Keynes Bowl, where supported will be provided by Biffy Clyro .
Taking place between July 8th-10th next year, T In The Park will be one of the first events treated to Foo Fighters’ forthcoming new album, of which frontman Dave Grohl remarked to NME: “I want to play the album at night live in front of 70,000 people. It’s a festival album because it fucking rocks!”
A limited number of tickets are due to go on sale tomorrow (Dec 3rd) at 9am (GMT). Foo Fighters are the first act to be announced for T In The Park which was headlined last year by Eminem, Muse and Kasabian.
