London-based five piece the Treetop Flyers (Reid Morrison, Sam Beer, Tomer Danan, Laurie Sherman, Matthew Starritt) are offering fans a free track entitled ‘Long Cold Winter‘ as the band continue work on their debut album.

Interviewed by Live4ever at the SXSW Festival back in March, the Treetop Flyers’ confident, understated Americana sound came together on the EP ‘To Bury The Past‘, released in September 2009, and marked them out as one of the obvious highlights of this year’s SXSW event.

Now, after being holed up for most of the second half of 2010 recording their debut record, the Treetop Flyers and stirring back to life and hope to have a new EP out by the end of the year, which is set to contain tracks laid down during both the new and older sessions.

Before then, head over to Facebook via this link to grab the free track. Recorded some time ago, the new song is an instant reminder of the huge potential locked up in the Treetop Flyers, and only serves to whet the appetite for the brand new material which is thankfully set to appear very soon.
