Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie Wants Huge Success For Beady Eye

bobby_gillespiePrimal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie has said he hopes Beady Eye, the band formed by ex-Oasis members following Noel Gallagher‘s walkout in August 2009, will be a huge success, but has admitted he is yet to hear any of the band’s new material.

“I love Liam and I love Noel and I wish them both the best of luck in their new musical explorations,” Gillespie said. “I don’t understand measuring people against what they did formerly. Either it rocks or it doesn’t rock. I hope it’s successful for Liam.”

Meanwhile, Gillespie and his Primal Scream bandmates kicked off their Screamadelica tour in London last weekend, as the record celebrates it’s 20th anniversary next year.

The group are playing the album in it’s entirety at a series of shows across the UK, and Gillespie told NME he is relishing the opportunity of playing some tracks live for the first time. “It’s not really reliving the old days,” he said. “A lot of the songs we recorded in the studio and never played live.”

A re-mastered edition of ‘Screamadelica‘ is due for release in March next year.
