A film-maker has uploaded a rare 40 minute clip taken from David Bowie and Nine Inch Nail‘s ‘Outside‘ co-headlining tour which took place throughout North America and Europe back in 1995.

The video was assembled by David Williams, who told Nine Inch Nails fan site The NIN Hotline that he held the position of ‘editor of record’ during the joint shoot, claiming it took place when “Virgin Records was going under and did not have the money to finish. The footage is lost forever. This concert was probably never paid for to the production company due to the snafu with the label. This footage is not the best quality since it was never finished and was in the old days before HD.”

The Outside Tour commenced in Hartford, CT on 14th September 1995, and completed a long trek across North America before landing in Europe with a four-date residency at London’s Wembley Arena from November 14th-18th, during which time former Smiths man Morrissey added his own talents to the impressive bill.

The new footage contains performances of Bowie classics including ‘The Man Who Sold the World‘, ‘Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps)‘, and his brilliant 1981 Queen collaboration ‘Under Pressure‘. The reel also showcases Nine Inch Nails at their best, and includes favourites such ‘Reptile‘ and of course ‘Hurt‘.
