The line-up for this year’s Liverpool Music Week, which will feature both ticketed and free gigs taking place at venues across the city from October 23rd to November 13th, has expanded further with the announcement of two new US acts due to take part in the annual event.

Liverpool’s own recently-reformed Cast have already been confirmed, and now Brooklyn four-piece The Drums head the recent additions, who will perform at Liverpool’s O2 Academy on Tuesday 2nd November. They will be joined by fellow New Yorkers Liars, who have just released their fifth album ‘Sisterworld’ and will play Liverpool’s Static Gallery on Saturday 13th November.

Commenting on the expanded line-up, Mike Deane, LMW Director said: “This is the icing on the cake for 2010. It’s a real sign of how far Liverpool Music Week has come to be able to attract such important contemporary American bands to the city for this year’s festival. The line up this year is the most cutting edge to date, and we are thrilled with this announcement.”

Other bands already confirmed to be taking part in the eighth annual festival include Leftfield, Chase & Status, Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, Villagers, Los Campesinos!, Chapel Club and Field Music. More information on all the shows can be found at the festival’s Facebook page.
