Claudia Deheza, one half of School Of Seven Bells’ identical twin sisters, has announced her departure from the band via Facebook, citing ‘personal reasons’ for her decision.

The band was formed by Claudia and her sister Alejandra, along with former Secret Machines member Benjamin Curtis back in 2007, and has gained a loyal following after the release of the albums ‘Alpinisms‘ and this year’s ‘Disconnect From Desire‘. The first major shake-up for the group was disclosed with a letter signed by her former bandmates on Facebook, which read:

“Hi everybody. We just wanted to let you all know that Claudia has left the band for personal reasons. In the meantime, we are excited to continue to write and tour as usual, and we’re very much looking forward to seeing you all at our upcoming shows.”

The announcement marks a surprising break for the sisters, who have been writing and performing together since the late-Nineties when they were part of a group called On!Air!Library!.

School Of Seven Bells are currently on a large North American tour and are due to play a show in Tampa, Florida tomorrow night (October 14th).
