Muse Track Tops ‘Best Riff Of Last Decade’ Poll


museat9Muse’s 2001 track ‘Plug In Baby‘ features the greatest guitar riff of the past decade, according to a new poll conducted by Total Guitar magazine.

The single, released in March 2001 from their second studio album ‘Origin Of Symmetry‘, finished ahead of rock supergroup Velvet Revolver, who’s 2004 release ‘Slither‘ was voted in second place. Muse took two places on the list, with their track ‘Knights Of Cydonia‘ also taking a spot on the top ten.

Other memorable riffs in the top ten include The White Stripes’Seven Nation Army‘, the first single released from their excellent ‘Elephant‘ album, and Queens Of The Stone Age’sNo One Knows‘, which hit the top twenty on the UK Singles chart in November 2002.




Like Muse, American rockers Avenged Sevenfold also have two places on the list, with their tracks ‘Afterlife‘ and ‘Beast and The Harlot‘ both making an appearance.
