Cold War Kids To Return With New Album In January

coldwarkidsCold War Kids have unveiled details of their forthcoming third studio album, their first since 2008’s ‘Loyalty To Loyalty‘.

Entitled ‘Mine Is Yours‘, the new album is set for release on January 24th next year, and was produced by the multi-talented Grammy Award winner Jacquire King, who has previously worked with the likes of Kings Of Leon, Modest Mouse and The Features.

Upon the release of their debut album ‘Robbers & Cowards‘ in 2006, Cold War Kids became one of the hottest new bands around, with the track ‘Hang Me Up To Dry‘ being one of the most striking releases of recent years. However, the 2008 follow up failed to match the standards set by ‘Robbers & Cowards‘, and they struggled to build on the momentum gained by their debut.

In a press release issued yesterday, frontman Nathan Willett discussed the changes in the band’s personal lives which have influenced the recording of their new LP. “I got home from tour and realized I was married,” he said. “All my friends had either jumped in the deep end of a relationship or had drowned.

When did things get so serious? We fought growing up but the wild nights and free-for-all caught up to us. Some people got out in time and others had permanent damage. For this record, I wrote about the joys and failures of commitment all around me.”

Cold War Kids are also due to begin a US tour in November, which will commence with a show in their home-state California on the 5th of the month.
