A clutch of stars have joined The Kinks legend Ray Davies on his new album which has re-visited a selection of classic Kinks tracks.

Entitled ‘See My Friends‘, the album will be released on November 1st and will open with a version of ‘Better Things‘ recorded by Bruce Springsteen. Other notable contributions will come from Metallica, who have worked on The Kinks’ seminal 1964 single ‘You Really Got Me‘ and Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan, who will close the record with his appearances on ‘All Day and All Of The Night‘ and ‘Destroyer‘.

London’s Mumford & Sons had previously revealed their part in the new project, when they confirmed they had recorded two tracks for the album, both of which have made the final cut. “He had mentioned that he’d like to include us”, they said. “It was the first time we’d heard about it so we jumped on it and chased it up. We spent two days in the studio with Ray Davies. We’re a little bit shell-shocked. We did a couple of songs – we did a medley. We did ‘Days’ and ‘This Time Tomorrow’.”
