Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has revealed his forthcoming solo album is set to feature contributions from some of rock’s heavyweights, including former Guns n Roses guitarist Slash, Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea.

Entitled ‘I Feel Like Playing‘, the new album will be his seventh solo effort, and his first since 2001’s ‘Not For Beginners‘, following a string of live releases in the intervening years. The record is due to hit the shelves on September 27th and will feature 12 new tracks including lead single ‘Lucky Man‘, and ‘Sweetness,’ ‘Spoonful‘ and ‘Fancy Pants‘. In addition to Slash, Vedder and Flea, the LP will also see guest spots from the legendary Kris Kristofferson, ZZ Top’ Billy Gibbons, Wood’s Faces bandmate Ian McLagan and Bobby Womack.

The album will be released on Eagle Records, and can be previewed on Wood’s official website at ronniewood.com. On his decision to release the record through Eagle, Wood said: “Eagle understood exactly what I needed for my album and they will give it the push that it deserves, both in the UK and internationally.”

In addition to his new solo venture, Wood has also recently performed his first gig with The Faces since 1975, with Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall taking over vocal duties from former frontman Rod Stewart.
