Villagers Nominated for ‘Album of the Year’ at 2010 Mercury Prize

Domino Records artist Villagers, debut album ‘Becoming A Jackal‘ has been nominated for the 2010 Mercury Prize for ‘Album of the Year.’ View the list here:

Villagers’ NPR Tiny Desk Concert posted earlier this week, and played “one of the most beautiful and memorable sets” at the NPR headquarters, says Robin Hilton –  you can check it out below.

On July 21, Villagers’ frontman Conor O’Brien will kick off a series of West Coast dates, which include stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle (see below). Villagers will return stateside this fall for a tour with the full band.

‘Becoming a Jackal’ debuted at #1 in Ireland and has garnered incredible reviews in the U.S. from the New York Times, NPR, Paste, and the Washington Post, which called it “one of the year’s best debuts.”
