No change at the top of either the Indie Album or Singles charts this week as Katie Melua’s record ‘The House‘ retains it’s place at #1 in the Album chart, while Dizzee Rascal’s new track ‘Dirtee Disco‘ remains at no.1 on the Indie Singles chart. There are new entries in the Album chart for The Divine Comedy and Teenage Fanclub, who’s ninth studio LP ‘Shadows‘ debuts a #6. The 1998 World Cup song ‘Vindaloo‘ re-enters the Top 10 this week as England prepare to begin their 2010 campaign against USA on Saturday.

No doubt where the main event is occurring this week as Manchester legend Ian Brown performs a large hometown show at the city’s Platt Fields Park on Friday. The former Stone Roses frontman will be backed by a host of excellent support acts over the course of the day, with the likes of UNKLE, The Whip and his fellow Manchester luminary Bernard Sumner’s new band Bad Lieutenant also appearing on the bill. Limited tickets remain available for what is sure to be one of the events of the year.
