Nine Inch Nails mainman Trent Reznor has announced his new group, How To Destroy Angels, will release their first new material as a free download. The band, which also includes his wife Mariqueen Maandig, will release a six-track EP on June 1st, which will be available from their official website. A higher quality version of the EP will also be issued, and will be priced at £1.40.

So Arcade Fire are finally back with some new material. The break doesn’t appear to have led to an obvious change of direction from the band, all the good-old earnest bombast that we’ve grown to love is still there, and with expectations high for another modern classic of an album, it appears the quality is still there too. Their new double A-sided 12″ ‘The Suburbs/Month of May’ is out now.

Klaxons kicked off their UK tour in Southend last Wednesday, as they gear up for the release of their second album ‘Touching The Void’. James Righton told the NME: “That was definitely the start of something right there. The beginning of a new chapter for us, I think.” They continue their tour in Plymouth on Wednesday.

Vampire Weekend have become a must-have for any festival over the past few years, and true to form they have popped up on just about every UK festival’s line-up for the upcoming summer. The video for ‘Holiday’, the third single from their album ‘Contra’, has just been released, and it seems the band are getting into the summer spirit nice and early, although the Olde Gentleman outfits might need to be ditched if we catch any sun this year.
