James Murphy has been recounting the unusual practises he and his LCD Soundsystem members indulged in during the making of their new record ‘This Is Happening’. Speaking to XFM’s John Kennedy, Murphy said the LA sessions began to feel like a ‘commune’ due to a new dress-code: “It’s not a rumour. It’s true,” he said. “Everyone had to wear white all the time, every day in the studio. Basically because I’m a big fan of bad ideas write large. It seemed like a good set, or script, to make the record to.”

Sir Paul McCartney is to take part in his first ever live webchat from 5pm (BST) today. McCartney, is to take some time off from rehearsals for his world tour to chat for 20 minutes from his Sussex studio. Head over to Ustream.tv/paulmccartney to take part in the event.

This year’s End Of The Road festival, which will take place in Dorset from September 10th-12th, has added a host of new acts to it’s bill. Joining headliners Modest Mouse, Yo La Tengo and Wilco will be the likes of Pulled Apart By Horses, Trembling Bells and Caitlin Rose.
