Kasabian have vowed to put on the shows of their lives for fans during this summer’s UK festival season, as they prepare for their first major headline appearances on home soil.

Speaking to BBC 6Music, guitarist and chief-songwriter Serge Pizzorno revealed the band are determined to put on unforgettable gigs for fans after six years of hard work building up a reputation as one of the premier live bands in the country. “It’s taken six years to get here, so it’s going to be an amazing sort of euphoric celebration,” said Serge. “A thank you to anyone who’s seen us back in the day because I’m sure people who’ve got tickets probably came to the first shows and it’s nice for them to see us get there, it’s going to be monumental I think.”

Serge also said they would have been happy to fill the void left by U2 at this summer’s Glastonbury festival before Gorillaz were confirmed as their replacements. “Yeah of course, we’ve always been that band, even when no one knew who we were if we found out someone had pulled out of the headliners, we’d always ring up and go we’ll do it, hopefully we’ll get our day pretty soon.”

Kasabian’s much anticipated headline spots will come at the T In The Park festival in July and the V Festival in August.
