Former Guns n Roses legend Slash played a clutch of the band’s classic tracks at a gig in Australia yesterday to mark the launch of a new music station in the country.

Playing at the The Palace, Melbourne to mark the unveiling of the new MTV Classic station, Slash’s band, fronted by former Alter Bridge singer Myles Kennedy, played a selection of Guns n Roses’ memorable songs including ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine‘ and ‘Paradise City‘, alongside some of his own tracks, and two songs lifted from Velvet Revolver’s 2004 record ‘Contraband‘. The guitarist was also joined by Australian rock singer Angry Anderson who sang on ‘Nice Boys’ and Wolfmother’s Andrew Stockdale who played on ‘By The Sword‘, a song he worked on for Slash’s recent eponymous album, as well as a version of his own band’s hit ‘Woman‘.

MTV Classic is set to launch across Australia on May 1st.
