The Who’s Superbowl Half Time Performance

“No offense to The Who but once you’ve seen titty at half time it’s hard to go back,” said one viewer after veteran Rockers the Who performed to a world wide audience during Super Bowl 44.

The viewer was referencing the infamous ‘wardrobe malfunction’ with Janet Jackson which plagued the internationally televised (pg13) spectacle at a past half time show.

Rolling Stone called the band’s Super Bowl half-time outing a “giant display of rock & roll might and pyrotechnics”, while Billboard said it was a “solid if expected medley [of] classic rock hits”.

The banter left by viewers on twitter after their performance was quite split with some viewers wondering how the band “got so old”

“Out of the possible relevant bands to play at the Superbowl; The Who are selected? What a bore,” one viewer said. “And I’m an old guy.”

By the way the New Orleans Saints beat Indianapolis Colts 31-17.
