Before you let your dad read this list you might want to have him sit down. His beloved Beatles don’t appear in the top 5 and he probably won’t recognize most of the artists on here, unless your dad is really cool or he works in the industry ….

Was Back to Bedlam a worthy enough album or were we just really apathetic consumers in the noughties ?
Honestly I am not surprised at all by this list. We all knew at some point or another that those were bestselling CDs. James Blunt and Dido ranking so high is unfortunate. It shows people like sappy and characterless music.
Eventhough I am not a fan, Amy Whinehouse, Scissor Sister and Coldplay’s AROBTTH deserve good rankings. Then no surprise, US and UK’s biggest acts are well represented.I’m glad to see a little bit of rock and decent pop. I guess people get nostalgic too (Abba, Michael Jackson and a bunch of greatest hits CDs).
As a final note I find it shocking that the Darkness land a spot on the list, they’re horrific. Oh yeah not one Muse album, what the hell is wrong with you UK people?!
i think R.E.M. – In Time is an excellent best of cd,even for those non fans,i guess 78 for STC is okay, though it should be in the top 20 imo.the thing is although im forever saying this is Most oasis fans dont buy them so who else will?
i dont get why a fan wont pay £5 for an oasis cd,they’re all on sale at HMV right now,im not saying the usual to be a fan you have to own everything etc … im not but if you true fans all bought their cds im sure they’d sell like they used to.
most of you will go on & say who cares about sales,it’s about caring as a fan,i always say to people get your oasis cd albums, turn the cases over & look at the tracklisting for each album then compare to any band right now ….
since 94 to now they’ve easily made the best songs which is why they were huge in the 90’s.I guess i’ve gone all off track lol.
I guess this just shows that those who buy music really hate themselves.
It’s amazing that STC sold more copies than Viva la Vida
What, no Nickelback? 🙁
oh please give me a break, nickelback?!
C’mon, please…
nickel…what?
