Amy Winehouse to Release New Album in 2010

Amy Winehouse

According to Island Records Co-President, Darcus Beese, Winehouse will ‘hopefully’ release the follow up to Back To Black next year. He has confirmed to BBC News today that he has heard some demos and has been blown away by them. “I have heard a couple of demos that absolutely floored me” Beese said today, adding that the album has been recorded in fits and starts.

Its been nearly 4 years since the release of Amy’s huge second album, Back To Black. Her private life, that has been publicly displayed in the national tabloids, has definitely been a huge factor in the delay of her third album. Rumours were she did start work with Mark Ronson again sometime in 2008, but due to her erratic behaviour, the sessions were scrapped soon after.

Amy has been busy however promoting the release of her God Daughter, Dionne Bromfield’s debut album. Released on Amy’s own label, Lioness Records, it promises to be a very good album and something for Winehouse fans the world over to enjoy. Released on 12th October in the UK.
