Muse are rumoured to be planning two huge homecoming gigs in Devon in September, reports southdevon.co.uk.

Although no official announcement has been made, the band are being linked to gigs on the 4th and 5th of September at The Den in Teignmouth, which would host approximately 15,000 people each night. The rumours gathered pace when it emerged promoter SJM Ltd had applied for a licence for a music concert in the area.

Muse were formed in the area of Teignmouth in 1994, when the members were attending Teignmouth Community College and Coombeshead College respectively. They quickly a built a strong local following in their hometown and won a local Battle Of The Bands contest there in 1994. The band then stretched out to bigger cities such as London and Manchester before releasing album ‘Showbiz‘ in 1999.

Since then, Muse have established a reputation as one of the premier live acts in the world, producing consistent captivating performances, which has seen them graduate to large stadium shows including two spectacular performances at London’s Wembley stadium in June 2007. A return to their home turf for two large shows would no doubt be an event to rival anything the band have done to date.

The concerts would be held in support of their new album ‘Resistance’, which has already been described by Zane Lowe as “a beautifully recorded, strong, sweeping, fighting, uplifting, rocking, and inclusive record about love.” It will be released on 14th September.
