Backstage Altercation Leads To Noel Gallagher’s Departure From Oasis

Twitter lit up the Internet brighter than a bonfire on Bastille Day today as Rock En Seine was getting ready to welcome Oasis on stage, the main act for day one of its festivities.

Just last week the band had cancelled an appearance at V Festival citing health problems for Liam Gallagher as the cause. Today it seemed a bit more dramatic as even diehards accustomed to brother Noel and Liam’s constant infighting during this tour did not expect the night to go over like this.

As it came closer to Oasis’ scheduled stage time the ‘oooo la la …Liam and Noel are fighting’ tweets spread like wild fire over the social networking site.  When Amy MacDonald’s (yes, the singer) personal twitter reported :

“I’m gutted 🙁 feel so bad for all their fans!” and

“Oasis cancelled again with one minute to stage time!!! -Liam smashes noels guitar, huuuge fight!” ,  fans knew something bad had just happened.

About an hour later even the best optimist’s dreams were over as Noel Gallagher himself posted an official statement on the band’s website which read:

“It’s with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.

“Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan.”

With the twitter war now over one can only hope that this is just part of a dearly needed longer break for the band and not the final chapter for the Brit Rock legends.

Long Live Oasis! Definitely ,  Not Maybe….
