U2 has announced the dates of their aptly named 360° Tour; the world tour begins June 30 in Barcelona and wraps up October 28 in Vancouver after encompassing the major cities of Europe and North America.
The tour will feature a state of the art stage (checkout the Claw under Construction) built in the center of each arena, and a 360° camera that will afford fans in any stadium seat an excellent view of the band on a big screen. U2 frontman Bono described the stage to Rolling Stone as “an engineering feat that creates this real physical proximity to the crowd.”
Such a stage allows the band to sell out an entire arena. Usually bands can’t or won’t sell seats located behind the stage, but this stage in the center of the arena eliminates this problem.
