Organisers have now reported that Muse and Coldplay will not be playing this year’s Glastonbury festival

Both bands had been rumoured to be playing The Park stage at this year’s event after Fan sites and forums raised the speculation following some fake twitter posts.

The NME says, Emily Eavis quashed both rumours, though revealed there will be at least one more special guest playing the festival alongside Klaxons:

“I’m glad Klaxons announced themselves so their fans know they can catch them there, we have another surprise on Friday and it’s really exciting for us,” said Eavis. “It’s not despite the rumours. We’re well excited.”

“Neil Young is a massive deal for me personally,” she declared. “It’s been a lifelong thing to get him here, it’s a dream come true getting him, so I won’t be missing that!” Neil will be hitting the Pyramid Stage as headliner this Friday nght.

Edespite recent speculation, Eavis doubted her dad and co-organiser Michael Eavis would ever really quit Glastonbury:

“I don’t think he’ll really retire,” she admitted. “It works really well at the moment.”
