Former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr has announced his intention to release a new album with The Healers next year, after recently confirming his departure from The Cribs in order to concentrate on other projects.

Last summer he finally succumbed to Pete Doherty‘s persuasive charms and reunited The Libertines to headline the Reading and Leeds festival. The gigs, which also included a warm up show at London’s Kentish Town Forum, did no harm to the band’s legacy and went down an absolute storm.

The Cribs Ready To Begin Work On New Album

After vowing to put their feet up for an extended spell on the sidelines following their UK festival shows last summer, The Cribs have revealed they will turn their backs on daytime TV shortly for a ‘handful’ of summer gigs, and will then begin work on their fifth studio album.
