Arcade Fire and Foals lead the way in the nominations for this year’s NME Awards, with the latter being up for each of the night’s main prizes – Best British Band, Best Album, Best Track and Best Live Band.

US indie band The Drums have unveiled details of their first major UK headline tour to begin in the winter.

The group, who released their eponymous debut album earlier this month, will start the tour at London’s HMV Forum on November 24th, before finishing at the Manchester Academy on December 6th.

Acclaimed songwriter Edwyn Collins has released details of his first studio album to consist of songs written after a life-threatening illness in 2005, which is set to feature the likes of Johnny Marr, Franz Ferdinand and Ryan Jarman.

Pop superstar Christina Aguilera is the number one in this week’s Album Chart with her new record ‘Bionic‘, replacing last week’s chart topper, Jack Johnson’s ‘To The Sea‘, which drops to #6. Outside the top 10, The Drums’ well received eponymous debut album enters at #16 and Florence & The Machine’s ‘Lungs‘ drops seven places to #17.

Shout For England, featuring rapper Dizzee Rascal and comedian James Corden, are at number one in this week’s Singles Chart with their new World Cup song ‘Shout‘.
