Killing For Company, the band formed by Stuart Cable who died suddenly last month, have released details of a new charity single in honour of the ex-Stereophonics drummer.
Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones has paid tribute to his former bandmate Stuart Cable, who passed away suddenly yesterday morning.
Stuart Cable, the former drummer of Welsh rock band Stereophonics, has been found dead at his home in South Wales.
Welsh rockers Stereophonics have launched a competition which will result in an unsigned Welsh band supporting them at their upcoming summer show at the Cardiff City Stadium on June 5th.

Stereophonics are Wayne Rooney’s favourite band. There, as that must be stated whenever the Stereophonics are written about, best to get it out of the way quickly so we can get on with the business of seeing whether they will live up to their reputation as one of the better live acts in the country…
Stereophonics are slated to play the inaugural concert of the newly built, super modern, Cardiff City stadium, on Saturday June 5th. The 32,000-seater is home to Cardiff’s football and rugby teams, as well as being used by the Welsh national football side but in the summer of 2010 it will be home to one of Britain’s finest, Stereophonics.
Live4ever’s highlights this week include a new album from a Manchester legend, a farewell gig from a popular Sheffield band, and the return of a long-running music-based TV series.
Albums
Ian Brown’s new album ‘My Way‘ is released this week. The album has already spawned hit single ‘Stellify‘, and has been hailed as his strongest solo album to date. Elsewhere, US band Alice In Chains release their first album since 1995 - ‘Black Gives Way To Blue‘ is out on the 29th.
Welsh rock trio Stereophonics have announced the first official details of their seventh studio album, confirming the tentative title “Keep Calm and Carry On”, which is set to be released on the 16th November.
The album will be preceded by the lead single, “Innocent”, a subdued poppy number in the vain of recent single “You’re My Star” which Isle Of Wight Festival attendants heard premiered in the band’s exclusive headlining appearance of the summer. The single is due out on the 2nd November.
The band has written, recorded and mastered the album throughout the year, coming off the back of last year’s greatest hits compilation “Decade In The Sun” and accompanying promotional tour, all the while keeping fans updated with MySpace blogs, Twitter posts and pictures illustrating the making of the album.
An update from bassist Richard Jones explains that the band have been “busy of late filming a video, on photo shoots and putting the finishing touches to the artwork” whilst they’ve also announced a “special one-off afternoon show” at Cardiff Castle on the 3rd October.
Fans will be previewed songs from the upcoming album along with the “classic hits” and to commemorate eleven years since the band performed there to a 10,000 strong audience, tickets are being sold at a recession-crunching £12.50, the same admission price of the band’s original gig at the venue.
Tickets are due to go on sale at 09.00 on Wednesday 9th September (09/09/09).
Meanwhile, the new albums tracklisting has also been unveiled, shown below, along with an audience-filmed video of the new single ‘Innocent’.
