US rock heavyweights Pearl Jam have been unveiled as the third and final headliners for the 2012 Isle Of Wight festival.
Eddie Vedder and co will join the previously announced Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty at the three-day event, and complete organiser John Giddings’ so-called ‘American Trilogy’ of acts.
Eddie Vedder was joined on stage by a host of rock stars during a two day, Pearl Jam-curated festival organised to celebrate the band’s 20th anniversary, reports Ultimate Classic Rock.
The festival was held at Wisconsin’s Alpine Valley Music Theatre during last weekend, and began with Vedder joining The Strokes onstage for a run-through of the New York band’s 2005 single ‘Juicebox‘, a fan-video of which can be viewed below.
On Wednesday rock legends Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters Dave Grohl and Pat Smear surprised fans during an encore at a Mike Watt and The Missingmen’s gig in Seattle. The trio jumped on stage at the Triple Door venue and treated everyone to an extended jam of Watt’s 1995 track “Big Train“

Modest Mouse are to re-issue two of their acclaimed EPs next month. The American band, led by the unique talents of Isaac Brock, will re-release 1997′s ‘The Fruit That Ate Itself‘ and 2001′s ‘Sad Sappy Sucker‘ on November 9th. Both EPs were originally issued through K Records.

Pearl Jam announced today that they will play eleven (11) Midwest and East Coast tour dates in May of 2010. The tour kicks-off on May 3rd at Sprint Center in Kansas City and wraps on May 21st at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Pearl Jam’s U.S. tour follows the band’s previously announced headlining appearance at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation Festival on May 1st.
