Morrissey To Appear On Kimmel and Conan Talk Shows

Morrissey is to perform on two US talks shows later this month as he prepares to launch an American and Mexican tour in Chicago this week.

Morrissey will appear on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday, November 23, and will follow that up with a spot on on TBS’ Conan on Tuesday, November 29th.

Morrissey made some mind boggling comments  during his performance in Warsaw on Sunday:

“We all live in a murderous world, as the events in Norway have shown, with 97 dead. Though that is nothing compared to what happens in McDonald’s and Kentucky Fried Shit every day.”

The Smiths man  had nothing further to add to his controversial quote as he believed his statement apparently spoke  for itself.

Morrissey Criticises Lack Of Social Awareness In Current Bands

Former Smiths frontman Morrissey has bemoaned the lack of social commentary in today’s music, claiming modern bands lack social awareness.

“Although everything has opened up, music seems to suddenly be stifled,” he told Billboard. “There are no songs anywhere about social awareness. 1971 suddenly seems quite radical by comparison. But you can’t complain too much because you begin to sound like a cloistered nun.”

Morrissey Fans Checked For Meat On Way Into Gig?

Fans attending a recent Morrissey gig in Middlesbrough were searched for meat on the way into the show, according to the Daily Mirror.

The paper quotes a gig-goer who claims after routine checks for alcohol, a member of the security staff then asked to rummage through bags to inspect the whereabouts of any errant fillet steaks.

Mike Joyce Criticises Morrissey Playing Smiths Tracks At Glastonbury

The Smiths‘ former drummer Mike Joyce has criticised Morrissey‘s decision to play a handful of the legendary band’s tracks during his recent Glastonbury performance, saying the songs belong to The Smiths, not their ex-frontman.

Morrissey performed five Smiths tracks last weekend, including the Manchester group’s seminal hits ‘This Charming Man‘ and ‘There Is a Light That Never Goes Out‘, and Joyce didn’t take the decision well.

Morrissey Has Some Kind Words For Lady Gaga

He doesn’t hand it out very often, so Lady Gaga has joined an elite club today after being praised by Morrissey as ‘terribly nice’, though he has admitted he isn’t a fan of her music which he believes is not designed to appeal to him anyway.

Morrissey Streams Three Tracks Set For New Album

Morrissey has begun streaming a selection of tracks expected to appear on his next studio album, which were debuted during a recent BBC Radio 2 session.
