Miles Kane has been working with the acclaimed dubstep producer Skream on his new EP which will be released for Record Store Day.
Records released in the past year by the likes of Miles Kane, Beady Eye and Noel Gallagher have been nominated for XFM’s New Music Award 2012 which aims to find the best British debut album of the past twelve months.
Miles Kane has announced a series of UK dates for April next year, and is also expected to release a new single to mark the tour.
Well, it’s that time of year again when we here at the Live4ever Ezine begin to trail back through 12 months worth of musical delights in a vain attempt to group our favourites of 2011 into some sort of coherent list we like to call Live4ever’s Essential Listening.

What a whirlwind of a year it has been for this ridiculously talented young man. A year on from his debut solo single ‘Inhaler‘, which breathed fresh life into a stale music scene, it’s safe to say that things have pretty much gone to plan. Where to start? Well, there’s the critically acclaimed album ‘Colour Of The Trap‘, support slots with the likes of Arctic Monkeys and Beady Eye, and more recently the announcement that he’ll be warming up for the mighty Kasabian on their forthcoming arena tour. Now that is ‘empire’.
Miles Kane channels the spirit of John Lennon and fronts it with the wardrobe of Paul Weller. Encompassing all the criteria that qualifies rock star status, as well as having the tunes to back it up with, Miles has become a household name this year. ‘Inhaler’, ‘Rearrange‘ and ‘Come Closer‘ might not have broken any records in the charts but they’re three of the finest song’s you’ll hear in 2011.
Acts including The Maccabees, Miles Kane, The Horrors and Live4ever favourites We Are Augustines have been booked to appear at this year’s XFM Winter Wonderland.
The 2011 event will take place across two gigs at the Manchester Apollo and Brixton Academy on December 5th and 14th respectively, with the likes of Chase & Status, Nero and The Big Pink due to appear in Manchester.
Miles Kane has admitted the creation of his debut solo album ‘Colour Of The Trap‘ was a huge struggle at times, but is now glad to have taken his time in achieving the best possible finished product.
US stars the Foo Fighters will headline the final day of this year’s T In The Park festival tonight, following in the footsteps of well-received sets from fellow bill-toppers the Arctic Monkeys and Coldplay.
On Friday night, Arctic Monkeys showcased tracks from recent album ‘Suck It and See‘ alongside well established favourites such as ‘I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor‘ and ‘Mardy Bum‘. The Sheffield band were joined by frontman Alex Turner‘s The Last Shadow Puppets colleague Miles Kane for closer ‘505‘, as a confident performance showed them growing more comfortable with the challenge of headlining major festivals.
