Arctic Monkeys have unveiled details of two large hometown shows next June as they continue work on their fourth studio album.

Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner is to release a new six-track EP comprising of original material recorded for Richard Ayoade‘s forthcoming film Submarine.

Arctic Monkeys have begun work on a new album with acclaimed Klaxons producer James Ford, and hope to have the record released sometime this year, reports NME.

Klaxons‘ unusual, but highly distinctive sleeve for their album ‘Surfing The Void‘ has won the Best Art Vinyl Prize for 2010.

Klaxons are to release an EP of unreleased material as a free download on Christmas Day.

With their UK headline tour coming to a close, Klaxons have been the talk of the internet over the weekend after their controversial video for recent single ‘Twin Flames’ leaked last week.

It’s always one of the most hectic week’s in the musical calendar, and next year’s South By Southwest Festival looks set to be the busiest ever following the release of the first list of bands today.

London-based Klaxons are to release the second single from their recent studio album ‘Surfing The Void‘ at the end of this month, and have also added two additional dates to their upcoming November UK tour.

British alternative rock band Klaxons released their sophomore album Surfing the Void last August as a follow up to their 2007 Mercury Prize winning Myths of the Near Future. The Londoners have been dodging the genre tag ‘New Rave’ which was given to them by Angular Records founder Joe Daniel and prefer to describe their sound as ‘Psychedelic / Progressive / Pop’.
