Iggy Pop has revealed he is writing new material with The Stooges guitarist James Williamson, but has yet to confirm whether the sessions will result in a new album from the punk pioneers.

The unique venue of Chester Racecourse hosts the first ever Chester Rocks event on the 2nd and 3rd of July, covering two days of music with a line-up to entertain both the family and regular gig-goer.

Punk pioneers Iggy & The Stooges, Plan B, and the hotly-tipped Brother are amongst the names confirmed for this year’s Evolution festival.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club reached a pinnacle point in their career tonight – their 1000th show, and what better place to mark this occasion than a gig at London’s Brixton Academy? Despite reportedly enduring a feud which stretches back into the Nineties, former Guns n Roses guitarist Slash has revealed he flirted with the idea of inviting his former bandmate Axl Rose to appear on his recent solo album.

After re-starting the Plastic Ono Band in New York earlier this year for a show that included the likes of Eric Clapton, Paul Simon and Bette Midler, Yoko Ono is now set to play two new dates in Los Angeles in October which will feature a new collection of special guests.

Line up also includes: Philip Glass, Regina Spektor, Gogol Bordello, Baaba Maal, Pierce Turner and Patti Smith with Jesse Smith & Michael Campbell
