A short preview of the Elbow song which will soundtrack the BBC’s coverage of this summer’s London Olympics has been posted online.
Elbow, Paul Weller and Bon Iver have been confirmed as headliners for this year’s Latitude festival.
Elbow and Paul Weller are to headline this summer’s Live From Jodrell Bank event, which is held in the shadow of the giant Lovell Telescope in Cheshire.
Elbow bass player Pete Turner has revealed the song which the band have written exclusively for the BBC’s coverage of this year’s London Olympics Games will receive its premiere in March.

BBC favourites Elbow have been chosen to soundtrack the station’s coverage of next summer’s Olympic Games.
The Lancashire band have written a six-minute song for the BBC, something which frontman Guy Garvey has described as “a real responsibility’, which will be used as the corporation’s theme throughout the London games.
Occasionally, a band and a venue will fit together so perfectly you begin to wonder if they were formed and built with each other in mind.
The Beatles had the Cavern, the Ramones had CBGB’s, Queen had Wembley, Oasis had Maine Road. And now, it seems the unique surroundings of the Manchester Cathedral may just prove to be the closest thing Elbow will ever get to a bankable home fixture.
Elbow‘s special, one-off gig at the Manchester Cathedral next week will be screened live in the city via a BBC Big Screen event at at Exchange Square.
Elbow frontman Guy Garvey has said ‘he doesn’t get’ Nirvana during one of a series of interviews being conducted by Q Magazine as part of its 25th anniversary promotions.
Elbow will be joined by the likes of King Creosote and Goldfrapp at this year’s Mencap Little Noise Sessions gigs in London.
The multi Mercury-nominated band lead the first names to be confirmed for this year’s series of shows, which will take place at the St John-at-Hackney church towards the end of November.
