Wanting to get out to a gig this week? Well find out where tickets are still available with Live4ever’s guide to some of the best shows going on in a major city near you over the next 7 days:
Live4ever caught up with Editors’ lead guitarist and synthesizer man Chris Urbanowicz before the lads from Birmingham England hit the stage at Terminal 5 in front of a packed house on New York City’s West Side this Friday night. The band is about to return to the UK and Europe as the US tour leg has just two more nights in Philadelphia and Washington DC. Chris gave us his insight on Editors’ new album (In this Light and on this Evening) direction, thoughts on the music biz, touring , life in the big Apple and much more. We were also in the photo pit to catch all the gig’s action for you - so read on and check out the live shots in our gallery following the interview!
Starting tomorrow, Friday, February 5th, Editors begin their long-awaited headlining North American tour in support of their acclaimed third album, In This Light And On This Evening. Available now via iTunes, the release features five exclusive bonus studio tracks and has received accolades from critics at SPIN, Nylon, Alternative Press, Filter and Metromix, among others. In This Light And On This Evening debuted at #1 on the UK charts week of release and charted in the Top 10 throughout the rest of Europe.
In This Light And On This Evening, which debuted at #1 in the UK charts, is the follow-up to 2007’s platinum selling record An End Has A Start, and was produced by Grammy Award winner Mark “Flood” Ellis (U2, Sigur Ros, Depeche Mode). The album finds Editors heading in a daring new direction where synths replace the soaring guitars and lead singer Tom Smith takes his vocals to haunting new places giving the album a dystopian, apocalyptic, mechanical ambience.
In conjunction with their first US headlining tour in two years, Editors will be playing inside your homes this coming February. In support of their highly anticipated new album In This Light And On This Evening, due out stateside on the FADER Label January 19th, 2010, Editors are hitting up late night TV.
