Ash could be ready to work on a new album after frontman Tim Wheeler admitted it remains ‘the best medium’ for releasing music.
Following 2007′s ‘Twilight Of The Innocents‘, Ash declared their intention to concentrate solely on singles in the future, saying they had no plans to work on another full length LP.
Respective guitar-led trios Ash and We Are Scientists have teamed up to record a new charity single which will aim to raise proceeds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The bands have come together to lay down their version of ‘Washington Parks‘, a track originally written and recorded by songwriter Robert Manning, who himself suffers from Multiple Sclerosis.
Irish rockers Ash will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the release of their third studio album ‘Free All Angels‘ with a trio of UK gigs in October.
The band will be re-joined for the short tour by former guitarist Charlotte Hatherley, who left the group in 2006 to focus on solo projects.
The tour will be launched at the HMV Institute in Birmingham on October 20th, before moving on to Manchester’s Ritz venue on the 23rd. The final date will come at the London Forum on October 25th. Ash plan to perform ‘Free All Angels’ in its entirely during the shows, and will also air various other tracks from their back catalogue.
Originally issued in April 2001, ‘Free All Angels’ winning brand of pop-tinged guitar anthems pushed the record to the summit of the UK Album Chart upon its release, thanks primarily to the hit singles ‘Burn Baby Burn‘ and ‘Shining Light‘.
Tickets for the mini-tour will go on sale from this Friday (August 12th), at 9am.
