Q Awards were handed out yesterday to The 1975, Foals, Stormzy and Little Simz.

The 2019 ceremony took place at the London Roundhouse as The 1975 picked up that most peculiar of Q Awards, ‘Best Act In The World Today’, while Foals got Best Album for Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 1. Stormzy was named Best Solo Act and Little Simz received the Best Vocal Performance prize.

“I always say that music is not a competition but someone has to win these Q Awards,” Q editor Ted Kessler reflects.

“Even though the shortlists in the voted for categories were extremely tight, this year I think our readers have captured the eclectic current tastes of the most music-hungry in the nation.”
