Johnny Marr has posted a video for his new single The Bright Parade.

It’s the a second slice of brand new material from Marr since last year’s Call The Comet album, following Armatopia. “This song is a commentary on a celebrity,” he says.

“The video’s narrative follows me and a friend pursued by an agent of the underworld coming to collect a debt after we traded our souls for fame.”

Call The Comet was among Live4ever’s top albums of 2018, described as being ‘peppered with effects and unearthly rhythms’. “Actor Attractor has synths that hark back toth Electronic days, and album centrepiece Walk Into The Sea offers ninety seconds of a variety of instruments all backed by a nagging pulse before it kicks into life with a sky-scraping, windswept, ear-consuming sound,” the review reads.

“As a contrast, Marr talks rather than sings throughout the song in a defiant tone. As rightly heralded as he is, it always seems to go without comment how much funk Marr brings to the mix.”
