Blur to release new live album on Parklife’s 25th anniversary

Parklife

The 25th anniversary of Blur‘s Parklife album will be marked on August 2nd with the first official release of a 1994 radio session.

Live At The BBC has four tracks – Girls & Boys, Jubilee, Trouble In The Message Centre and Lot 105 – recorded during a radio session with Mark Radcliffe in Manchester on March 7th 1994 as the build-up to Parklife caught pace.

Also in the works is an anniversary collection of Parklife-era merchandise offering contemporary items such as Blur FC and the famous dog track logo.

Despite earlier chart successes from bands such as Suede, and Blur themselves, Parklife is widely seen as ushering in the mid-nineties Britpop movement; a UK number one which spawned equally as big hit singles, none more so than its title-track. Britpop would move up another gear just a few months later when Oasis arrived at the party that summer with their debut album Definitely Maybe.

Live At The BBC tracklist:

Side One:

Girls & Boys
Jubilee

Side Two:

Trouble In The Message Centre
Lot 105
