Vampire Weekend will share two songs from their new double album next week.
Ezra Koenig gave his Instagram followers a lengthy update yesterday, revealing the album’s initials are FOTB and that it will be an 18-song affair. “Is it a double album,” he wrote. “The vinyl will be double so…yes? It’s about 59 minutes long. We can talk more about that later – if u care. To me, it’s just FOTB. Anyway, we’re gonna start releasing music next week. After all that waiting, you should have the general schedule.”
“It’s a lot of songs but they all belong there. (If you disagree, you can always say it was 6 songs too long & make a lil 12-song playlist version of it.)”
This will be the first Vampire Weekend album since 2013’s Modern Vampires Of The City and the 2016 departure of Rostam Batmanglij although, when later speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Koenig said that he and Rostam were nevertheless, ‘working on some songs in the exact same way they’ve always worked’
