The widely expected return of the Arctic Monkeys has just kicked into gear.

The band have been confirmed on the Firefly Festival line-up to start a year which should eventually bring more live dates and a new album.

It should come as no surprise that The Killers are joining them at the top of the Delaware event’s bill given that they’re playing pretty much everywhere this year, while Eminem and Kendrick Lamar are also headlining between June 14th-17th.

After finally piquing attention in America that at least began to bear some resemblance to their decade-long UK success with 2013’s AM – thanks largely to the hit lead single Do I Wanna Know? – the Sheffield band has had a long spell on the sidelines while its members busied themselves with other projects.

Frontman Alex Turner subsequently restarted The Last Shadow Puppets with Miles Kane in 2016, while drummer Matt Helders was last spotted recording and touring with Iggy Pop during his hugely acclaimed Post Pop Depression venture.
